How to Start Living Your Purpose

What you’ll find is that the only thing you really want from life is to feel enthusiasm, joy, and love. If you can feel that all the time, then who cares what happens outside? If you can always feel up, if you can always feel excited about the experience of the moment, then it doesn’t make any difference what the experience is. No matter what it is, it’s beautiful when you feel that way inside. So you learn to stay open no matter what happens. If you do, you get for free what everybody else is struggling for: love, enthusiasm, excitement, and energy. You simply realize that defining what you need in order to stay open actually ends up limiting you. If you make lists of how the world must be for you to to open, you have limited your openness to those conditions. Better to be open no matter what.

Since I turned 20 years old, I have been interested in the idea of "seeking out my truest purpose." It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I understood the full truth that I didn't need to seek it out any longer, I only needed to start "living it" by being present with who I already was.

Of course, this is easier said than done. Our own limiting beliefs, society, culture, and advertising will constantly tell us that we have to seek something outside of ourselves to feel complete. Even when we KNOW that to not be true, it doesn't stop the inner voice and critic from piping up and telling us that if we want to be complete and happy, we need more things, we need to achieve grander things,  and we need to be more than we already are.

So much of our culture, (and our ego/mind),  wants to tell us we will only be happy, joyful and peaceful when we reach some bigger and better in the future.  The secret is, happiness, joy, peace and abundance are all things we are capable of experiencing right now if we get quiet and connect with our truest selves in the moment.  Your truest self is already enough. You already have enough. And you don't have to do anything special or achieve anything more to be whole and loved. You were born whole and loved, and that has never changed.  Living and FEELING from this knowing will connect you with your only true purpose: the present moment.

I've found, the more I choose to live from a place of presence and returning to my enough nature, the more my life syncs into flow, allowing me to take inspired actions that feel good and bring me even more of what I'm radiating: joy, peace and abundance. Choosing to live from this place also brings me the best gift of all: connection to other human beings.

Give up defining yourself-to yourself or to others. You won’t die. You will come to life. And don’t be concerned with how others define you. When they define you, they are limiting themselves, so it’s their problem. Whenever you interact with people, don’t be their primary as a function or a role, but as a field of conscious Presence. Why does the ego play roles? Because of one unexamined assumption, one fundamental error, one unconscious thought. That thought is: I am not enough. Other unconscious thoughts follow: I need to play a role in order to get what I need to be fully myself; I need to get more so that I can be more. But you can not be more than you are because underneath your physical and psychological form, you are one with Life itself, one with Being. In form, you are an d will always be inferior to some, superior to others. In essence, you are neither inferior nor superior to anyone. True self-esteem and true humility arise out of that realization.
